Welcome to our site and congratulations on discovering the most exciting Morgan sport horses anywhere!

CANEQUIN is a 35 acre farm in upstate New York which has bred highly competitive Morgans since 1974. Our foundation stallion is EQUINOX LOCOMOTION, a classically correct champion with a charismatic personality and remarkable gaits. We have acquired a few exceptional mares of predominately Upwey Ben Don bloodlines to complement LOCOMOTION. Canequin-bred Morgans are now highly regarded by both active competitors and discriminating breeders; a LOCOMOTION daughter was exported in 1989 and founded the first Morgan breeding farm in France.

Living proof of the breed's versatility, our horses have triumphed in many equine endeavors. In 2000 and 2002, a Canequin Morgan was selected by the USET to represent the U.S. in international competition at the World Singles Driving Championship.

We specialize in breeding slightly larger horses retaining strong breed identity, plus all the qualities for which the Morgan is so highly prized; soundness, stamina and beauty. The Canequin horses are well known for their intelligence, excellent attitudes and eagerness to work.

When you buy one of our Morgans, you can be assured it has been raised in the best possible environment with big, safe, rolling pastures, maximum turnout, and customized immunization, farrier and dental care. Our veterinary nutritionist carefully designs a balanced ration which provides our youngsters with the perfect start in life. It is with great pride that we recognize the many Canequin Morgans who are still actively competing, totally sound, in their late teens and 20's.
